Every Friday, guests on the three-hour tour will be collected from Belmond Copacabana Palace at 5am and transported to the national park of Tijuca Forest, where the granite peak of Corcovado is located. Here they will journey to the top of the 2,296ft mountain, where they can marvel at the famous 125ft statue of Jesus Christ before the usual crowds of sightseers arrive. Enjoying such privileged access to the famous landmark, which is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, is a truly unforgettable experience.

Making the most of having the site practically to themselves, guests will be treated to a delicious picnic breakfast on top of the mountain. Carefully prepared by Belmond Copacabana Palace’s executive chef Pierre-Olivier Petit, a waiter will serve the alfresco feast of fresh home-baked breads, sandwiches, cakes, pastries and juices while guests soak up incredible views as the sun rises over the city.

A regional landmark in its own right, Belmond Copacabana Palace is committed to supporting local communities. In keeping with this philosophy, the hotel will sponsor a local child’s entry to Corcovado for each guest and staff member who participates in the tour.
