When you book a trip with Humboldt Travel (trading as Bespoke Brazil) you can be sure that you are doing so with confidence.
We are members of the Travel Trust Association (membership number Q4745), an organisation which provides consumers with 100% financial protection when a booking is made. Every penny you pay to Humboldt Travel is guaranteed by the Travel Trust Association so were the worse to happen and our company to financially fail or cease trading, the Travel Trust Association will liaise with the suppliers to ensure that your holiday goes ahead unaffected. If for any reason this is not possible, the Trust will refund you the money that you have paid for your holiday.
When you make a booking Humboldt Travel deposits your money into a Trust Account which is a bank account designated to hold your money. Your money remains in the Trust Account and is supervised by an appointed Trustee who is either a banker, chartered or certified accountant or a solicitor. Both Humboldt Travel AND the Trustee are required to authorise payments from the Trust Account.
Therefore, the Trust Account plus the guarantee will ensure that all the money which you have paid is safely protected and available to reimburse the money paid. When you make a booking, you will be supplied with a guarantee certificate.
Are we members of ABTA? No, we are not. ABTA ended its consumer promise in 2006. This means that not all of the travel arrangements that you book through an ABTA member are necessarily protected in case of the financial failure of the travel company.
You will need to ask the ABTA member how financially secure their travel arrangements are. If the arrangements are not automatically protected, the ABTA member may be able to offer suitable insurance to cover you.
If you book flights with us then your holiday is also protected under ATOL.
When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight inclusive holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists what is financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong.
We, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL Certificate, will provide you with the services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where neither we nor the supplier are able to do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to pay any money outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases it will not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme (or your credit card issuer where applicable).
If we, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL certificate, are unable to provide the services listed (or a suitable alternative, through an alternative ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons of insolvency, the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust may make a payment to (or confer a benefit on) you under the ATOL scheme. You agree that in return for such a payment or benefit you assign absolutely to those Trustees any claims which you have or may have arising out of or relating to the non-provision of the services, including any claim against us, the travel agent (or your credit card issuer where applicable). You also agree that any such claims may be re-assigned to another body, if that other body has paid sums you have claimed under the ATOL scheme.
All the flights and flight-inclusive holidays on this are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. When you pay you will be supplied with an ATOL Certificate. Please ask for it and check to ensure that everything you booked (flights, hotels and other services) is listed on it. Please see our booking conditions for further information or for more information about financial protection and the ATOL Certificate go to: www.atol.org.uk/ATOLCertificate.
Humboldt Travel holds an Air Travel Organiser’s Licence. Our ATOL number is T7603.
Travel insurance is vital and it is your responsibility to ensure that you take out a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover you during your travel. We reserve the right to request details of your policy before you travel. It is always advisable to take out travel insurance as soon as you book your holiday in case you have to cancel for unforeseen reasons.
If you choose to travel without adequate travel insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available. If you lose any personal items whilst on holiday in Latin America we advise you to obtain a written police report and/or from a local representative to assist with any insurance claim upon your return.
Humboldt Travel is an Introducer Appointed Representative for Cover-More Travel Insurance which has been a travel insurance specialist for 30 years, and globally insures over 2.2 million travellers each year.
To be able to purchase one of these policies you must be resident in the UK. This means you must have a permanent UK address and be living in the UK at the time the policy is issued.
Humboldt Travel does not sell travel insurance policies directly. There are other providers in the market which may offer better terms and you may wish to look elsewhere for travel insurance. The Humboldt Travel does not provide advisory, intermediary or broking services of any kind for travel insurance.
We know it’s not the most exciting part of arranging your holiday but it’s just as important so please make sure you have sufficient cover to protect you whilst you are away.
