This sample Brazil holiday, as its name suggests, focuses on one of Brazil’s most famous sights, the mighty Amazon River and rainforest. This itinerary will immerse you in a week of Amazon exploration but in highly comfortable surrounds aboard the M/Y Tucano as it sails along the Amazon River and its tributaries. If this is your first visit to Brazil then it isn’t complete without a stopover in the incredible city of Rio de Janeiro which makes this itinerary a fabulous mix of nature and the city, not forgetting a beach or two we could mention in Rio!
An overnight flight from the UK will land early Rio de Janeiro upon where you will be met by an English speaking driver who will take you to your chosen hotel as your Brazil holiday begins. The remainder of the day will be free for you to explore the city or perhaps relax on the beach.
The Praia Ipanema Hotel is one of our favourites. Situated on the beach front at Ipanema, every room in the hotel faces the beach with its own private balcony offering a high standard of service. The hotel offers four levels of accommodation all of which are immaculately presented; Standard, Deluxe, Deluxe Master and Suites. If you don’t want to wander far for food then the hotel’s gourmet restaurant, looking out on Ipanema beach has fine Brazilian and international cuisine. On the terrace the Bossa Nova Bar and rooftop pool offer wonderful views along the length of Ipanema beach and the perfect place to chill out.
After breakfast you will be met by your private English speaking guide and depart for Corcovado to see the most famous of all images of Rio, the statue of Christ the Redeemer. The views from the top are breathtaking and make you realise why Rio is considered by many as the most beautiful city in the world. After some time at the top to fully appreciate the city you will head to a traditional churrascaria to taste a typical Brazilian lunch at the famous Porcão Restaurant. After lunch you will head off to explore Sugar Loaf Mountain. This granite rock is an iconic Rio landmark and from the top you’ll once again have the most wonderful views of the whole city, its beaches and a breathtaking view of Guanabara Bay. It’s a great place to watch the sun set over the city, sipping a caipirinha. The evening will then be free for you to relax.
Today is free for you to enjoy at your leisure. Relax on one of the city’s many beaches, explore the historic centre, meander round the cobbled streets of Santa Teresa or amble around the Botanical gardens. The city has ample to keep you entertained for many a day.
Your Brazil holiday continues and following a private transfer to the airport, today you will fly to the heart of the Amazon, to the city of Manaus.
